Students and faculty from NCA’s high school traveled to Concord on Tuesday, January 19th, to participate in Franklin Graham’s ‘Decision America’ rally to pray for our nation. Mr. Graham is touring all 50 states in the coming year to encourage Christians “to vote, to live out their faith in every part of their lives, and to pray for our nation just as Nehemiah cried out to God to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and restore hope to His people”. Opening with Nehemiah’s prayer for the restoration of Israel, Mr. Graham led those present through confession and prayer for the United States.
Undeterred by the cold, the NCA group joined a crowd of hundreds to pray and to seek God’s favor for the nation. We were challenged to stand for Christ and to engage in the political process in our towns, cities and states. Mr. Graham urged each one present to vote and to be sure his or her family members registered! He noted that the country needs godly people in both local and federal government who will support Christian principles. Freshman Jordyn Morey said, “I like how he said we can’t wait for someone else to do something, we have to get involved.”
Several students shared how deeply they were touched by being part of this historic event; and thanked school staff for bringing them to Concord to stand in the gap for our country! “It was good how we all came together as a school,” senior Dmytro Golovko noted.
